Focus Area
Semiconductors, Geopolitics and Europe
In this workstream we focus on Europe’s technological competitiveness and the impact of geopolitical tensions, particularly those arising from US-China technology competition as it plays out in chips. We assess the competitive landscape and the geopolitical intricacies that influence the sector, considering China’s quest for semiconductor self-reliance and its long-term implications for Europe.
We provide analyses that support the development of semiconductor strategies that are adaptive and resilient to the complexities of today’s geopolitical landscape. The goal is to enhance Europe’s technological footprint in the semiconductor domain, ensuring its indispensable role in the global ecosystem amidst shifting power balances and supply chain vulnerabilities.
