Oliver Sussman supports the working area “AI Governance” as a student assistant.
Oliver is pursuing a master’s at the interdisciplinary Berlin School of Mind and Brain within Humboldt-Universität, where he currently focuses on the cognitive and neuroscientific implications of deep learning models. Before coming to Berlin, Oliver studied neuroscience and philosophy at Harvard University, and completed a Fulbright fellowship at the University of Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. Oliver’s broad academic background across the sciences and humanities has compelled a deep interest in working at the intersection between technical expertise and public policy.
Apart from significant research experience in academic neuroscience, Oliver worked as a research assistant at the MGH Center for Law, Brain, and Behavior, where he assisted on projects aiming to integrate neuroscientific findings into the US legal system; and as an intern in life sciences consulting, as well as in business development at a biotechnology startup.
